La razza ha ottenuto il riconoscimento internazionale dalla Fondazione Slow Food per la Biodiversità Onlus. Il film offre un ritratto dello stile di vita Navajo, che raramente è stato rappresentato.
Synopsis: To Navajo people of the American Southwest, sheep is life. The Navajo-Churro sheep is the original domestic breed that sustained the Navajo, Pueblo and Hispanic people for nearly 400 years, on the verge of extinction a generation ago, the Navajo-Churro is making a comeback for the Navajo. This breed has been recognized by the Slow Food foundation for Biodiversity. This film offers a portrait of the rarely seen traditional Navajo lifestyle.

| Biografia / Biography: Peter Blystone ha iniziato a fare film a Los Angeles quando era dodicenne. Questo background e un Master in Antropologia Culturale lo hanno portato a realizzare film per il Museum of Northern Arizona e per la University of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, e ad approfondire il suo interesse sulle popolazioni autoctone nel mondo. Nel 2000 si è occupato particolarmente di cibo e coltura. I suoi lavori sono stati proiettati in numerosi festival e trasmessi da canali televisivi come Discovery Channel, National Geographic, PBS, History Channel e Archaeology Channel. Peter Blystone began making movies in Los Angeles when he was 12 years old. With this background and a masters degree in cultural anthropology, he began making movies for the Museum of Northern Arizona and the University of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff. This experience deepened his interest in the human condition of Native peoples around the world. In 2000 he became especially interested in the subject of food and culture.
