Sinossi: Jean, affascinante contadino francese vecchia maniera, sente la pressione di dover svendere tutto. Non può più lavorare come ha sempre fatto, è stato appena scaricato da una moglie africana in cerca di cittadinanza francese e i moduli per le sovvenzioni europee lo opprimono. Ora, o si intestardisce a voler vendere ciò che resta del suo bestiame o può offrire la sua fattoria ad una nuova generazione di contadini biologici. Il film cattura splendidamente un passo di vita, un romantico paesaggio e una cultura morente con grande sensibilità e comprensione.
Synopsis: Jean, a charming old-school French farmer, feels the pressure to sell everything. He cant work the farm as well as he used to, he has just been conned by an African wife looking for French citizenship and the European subsidy application forms are grinding him down. Yet he remains stubborn about selling his cattle or offering his farm to a new generation of organic farmers. The film beautifully captures a pace of life, a romantic landscape and a dying culture with great sensitivity and empathy.

| Biografia / Biography: Affascinato dalla gente comune, Raphaël Mathié ha eletto lambiente rurale come suo territorio cinematografico. Il coraggio, le battaglie ma anche le angoscie di questa gente sono al centro dei suoi film. In Trente-cinq ans et des poussières, medio metraggio di 22 minuti, racconta la storia dei lavoratori vittime dellamianto, mentre sia in Terres amères che in Dernière saison mostra lattaccamento dei contadini alla loro terra. Fascinated with everyday people, Raphaël Mathié has made the rural world the domain of his filmmaking. The courage, the battles and the fears of these people are at the heart of his films. His mid length Trente-cinq ans et des poussières tells the story of asbestos victims, while both Terres amères and Dernière saison show the attachment of farmers to their land.
